Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting meats and related products, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
• Prepare and portion meats according to store standards, utilizing proper food preparation techniques.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the meat department, adhering to food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
• Restock displays regularly, ensuring products are well-presented and inventory levels are maintained.
• Handle cash transactions with accuracy, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities.
• Support food industry best practices by practicing proper food handling, storage, and rotation procedures.

Skills

• Proven experience in food preparation, meat cutting, or a related culinary role.
• Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales processing.
• Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products and enhance sales through effective serving techniques.
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment such as a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting.
• Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and accurate measurement of ingredients or portions.
• Experience working in retail grocery stores or food service environments is highly desirable.
