Information Technology Support Specialist

Location: Newport, RI - 4 days/week | New Bedford, MA - 1 day/week

Salary Range: $80K-$100K | Bonus eligible

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 8:15-5:30 | Exempt

Required: 5 years of IT Support, Service Desk, or Help Desk experience and 2 years in a Tier 2 or senior support role

About the Opportunity

A respected regional law firm is seeking a Level 2 IT Support Specialist to serve as a senior technical resource and escalation point supporting multiple office locations. This newly created role is ideal for an experienced IT professional with strong Microsoft 365 administration experience and a commitment to delivering exceptional end-user support.

Qualifications & Skills

• 5 years of IT Support, Service Desk, or Help Desk experience
• 2 years in a Tier 2 or senior support role
• Advanced experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and networking fundamentals
• Experience working within ITIL/ITSM frameworks
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Key Job Functions

• Serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 Help Desk issues, resolving complex technical problems while meeting SLA targets
• Provide onsite and remote desktop support for users in Newport and New Bedford, with occasional travel to Providence
• Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Autopilot, and Entra ID/Azure AD
• Manage Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and security policies
• Deploy, image, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software
• Support VOIP systems, mobile devices, and MDM platforms
• Assist with network troubleshooting, including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and VLANs
• Mentor junior team members and maintain accurate ticket documentation and knowledge base articles
• Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation
