Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, caulking, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray equipment to apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other coatings with precision
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics to accurately execute painting projects according to specifications
- Conduct surface preparation for construction painting including drywall finishing, masonry work such as stucco and masonry repairs, and renovation tasks
- Apply industrial or commercial-grade paints on large-scale projects while adhering strictly to safety regulations and using respiratory protection when necessary
- Perform fixture installation, trim carpentry, framing, and basic carpentry tasks as needed during renovation or restoration projects
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly disposing of waste materials and ensuring all tools are stored safely after use
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction site painting including surface preparation and finishing techniques
- Strong knowledge of color theory to match shades accurately and create visually appealing results
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and interpreting detailed instructions for complex projects
- Skilled in using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, caulking guns; power tools including drills and sanders; as well as airless paint spraying equipment
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting including proper use of respiratory protection and fall protection measures
- Ability to perform surface repairs such as plastering, drywall finishing, masonry work like stucco or concrete finishing
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations; experience with blueprint reading is highly desirable
- Familiarity with renovation processes involving carpentry (trim carpentry, framing), masonry (masonry work), welding or fixture installation is a plus
- Prior construction or industrial painting experience on commercial or residential sites is preferred; site experience helps ensure efficiency and safety on the job
