About The Role
Fabricate metal details, pieces or products using a variety of hand tools and welding equipment according to required specifications in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read, interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate weldments and assemblies.
- MIG/TIG aluminum, stainless, and steel in a variety of thicknesses and positions.
- Utilize handheld tools such as grinders and weld stud guns.
- Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other inspection hand tools
- Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods
- Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times
- Create specific welding set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
- Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
- Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- 3-5 Years Experience as a metal fabricator
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic reading skills, must be able to follow directions
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates
- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds
- Regularly perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
- Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane
