Machining Adjunct

Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. The college is located within the Greater Richmond metropolitan area. General Information: Adjunct faculty teaching is limited to a maximum of 8 credit hours in the summer semester, 12 credit hours in the fall semester, and 12 credit hours in the spring semester. These limits are for total number of credit hours taught in the Virginia’s Community Colleges (VCCS). Additional restrictions may apply depending upon other positions occupied within VCCS.

Responsibilities: The Division of Engineering, Business, and Public Services at Brightpoint Community College augments full-time teaching faculty with qualified part-time instructors to enhance the student learning process. We currently seek qualified instructors for both manual and CNC operation. Manual Instructors will teach all aspects of machining including usage of conventional lathes and mills, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, inspection procedures, and blueprint reading. Involves classroom and laboratory instruction.

CNC Instructors will teach all CNC machine tool setup and operation, G-code programming by hand, and off-line programming with CAM package. Involves classroom and laboratory instruction.
