What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Psychologist position at John T. Nichols, Jr. Middle School?
•Administer and interpret comprehensive psycho-educational assessments (including cognitive, academic, social, and/or behavioral emotional assessments) for designated students at the assigned level.
•Assess students referred for school counseling or social skills intervention, and provide intervention as appropriate, including consultation with staff and parents and referral to appropriate outside agencies when needed.
•Communicate clearly with school personnel, parents, and community resources in providing services to students while maintaining confidential and professional relationships.
•Participate actively in Team Meetings and assist Special Education Coordinator and/or act as Team Chairperson when required.
•Participate in Building Child Study Team (CST) and with Response to Intervention/ Massachusetts Tiered Systems of Support initiatives.
•Develop/oversee Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
•Conduct classroom and program observations when necessary.
•Complete other duties as reasonably assigned by the Building Principal and Director of Pupil Personnel Services
