John T. Jones Construction Co. is seeking a full-time Payroll, AP & Job Cost Accounting Specialist. We are a medium-sized General Contracting Firm specializing in Water/ Wastewater Construction.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll, Accounts Payable, Job Costing/Equipment
- Process payroll for 50 employees weekly, including payments for garnishments, child support obligations, payroll tax deposit
- Process accounts payable from invoice to payment
- Assist in administering and maintaining employee records and benefits policies.
- Reconciliation of Vendor statements and Customer payments
- Maintain payment files and invoice files
- Responsible for the assembling, processing, reviewing and submission of applications for payment for multiple projects
- Lien waiver maintenance
- Job cost tracking, analysis and reporting
- Process budget changes and maintain project files in orderly, organized manner.
- Communicate with Project Managers and senior management on all aspects of construction accounting.
- Track and monitor tools, vehicles, and equipment locations
- Maintain records of miles/hours on vehicles and equipment to assist in maintenance planning
- Perform/review bank account and petty cash reconciliations
- Process withholding and sales tax returns
- Assist with general office duties as required
Skills/Education:
- 2-5 years in a related position, construction industry a plus
- High School Diploma, 2-year degree preferred but not required
- Competent with computers & exposure to accounting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel , Word & Outlook
