Individuals who hold a valid California credential which required the completion of a bachelor's degree and CBEST are authorized to serve as day to day substitutes. You can qualify to apply for a document authorizing substitute teaching if you hold a bachelor's degree and have taken and passed CBEST.

Join our Team: Be a Substitute Teacher in JSUSD DAILY PAY RATE $220.00 a day/ $110.00 half day (just increased!) $250.00 long term You can substitute if you: Hold a valid California K-12 teaching credential, or a substitute permit. You qualify for a California substitute permit if you hold a BA degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university and have taken and passed the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST). We will reimburse you for your fingerprinting fee after you work for us for five (5) days! Our District serves the communities of Rodeo, Crockett, Port Costa, and parts of Hercules.
