Job Summary:
A Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager leads financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, developing models to analyze performance and support strategic decisions. Key responsibilities include managing budgets, conducting variance analysis, building business partner relationships at the plant and corporate levels, and driving cost-saving initiatives within manufacturing operations. The role requires strong analytical and technical skills, knowledge of manufacturing costs and inventory, and the ability to communicate financial insights effectively to senior management and plant personnel.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; a CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
- Strong proficiency in financial systems, Excel, business intelligence tools, and data analysis.
- Deep understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing operations in a plant setting.
- Ability to analyze complex data, interpret financial information, communicate insights clearly, and influence operational decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop actionable strategies from data and contribute to long-term financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the annual operating plan (AOP), rolling forecasts, and long-range plans.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Develop and present accurate, timely monthly and quarterly financial reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc analyses to management.
- Provide financial insights and modeling to support strategic initiatives, capital investments, and other business decisions.
- Collaborate with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and translate them into financial and operational plans.
Work Environment
This job is carried out in a professional office setting and involves using standard office equipment like laptops, desk phones, and smartphones. Regular visits to production facilities may also be required.
Physical Demands
Employees must be able to stand, walk, or sit; use their hands for tasks; reach with their arms; and communicate verbally. Occasional lifting or moving of objects is necessary, along with close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
