Duties
- Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work, using advanced welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Conduct auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and automotive cosmetic repairs utilizing sanding tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Execute auto painting and refinishing tasks with airless paint spraying equipment to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Install automotive parts such as glass, trim, and other components with precision using automotive parts installation tools.
- Utilize fabrication skills to create custom metal parts or repair sections through sheet metal working and fabrication techniques.
- Apply automotive repair knowledge to ensure vehicle safety and integrity, including auto restoration projects and collision damage repairs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repair processes and communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding work progress.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician in a dealership or collision center environment.
- Strong proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment operation.
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal work, fabrication repair techniques, and automotive structural repair methods.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems, auto restoration processes, and automotive parts installation.
- Skilled in using sanding tools, hand tools, power tools, and auto painting equipment for cosmetic repairs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during vehicle repairs or parts handling.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and auto glass replacement procedures is a plus.
