Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Support medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation in medical records.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or memory impairments, including behavioral health support.
- Assist with patient transfers and positioning using aseptic techniques to prevent infections.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, post-acute care, or hospice to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Document all patient interactions accurately within EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
- Support patients in outpatient, inpatient, or home care environments by providing compassionate caregiving tailored to individual needs.
- Participate in ongoing training related to medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and emergency procedures like Basic Life Support (BLS).
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital experience), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care settings.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures, medication administration, catheter care, and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and those with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
