Position Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
- Master’s degree is preferred, but not required.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned.
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
- High School teaching experience preferred.
- Being a member of the Catholic faith is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise in a specific technical or vocational field.
- Strong instructional and communication skills.
- Ability to manage equipment and laboratory settings safely.
- Experience with curriculum development and educational technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- Develop and implement lesson plans, deliver both theoretical and practical lessons, and create technology-based learning materials for specific technical subjects.
- Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and techniques, supervising students in workshops or labs.
- Monitor student progress, assign tasks, grade assignments, and provide feedback to help students develop skills for success.
- Advise students on career paths, facilitate internships, and help them prepare for industry certifications.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules, safety procedures, and maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, collaborate with local businesses, and ensure curriculum meets current workforce needs.
- Discuss student progress with parents, counselors, and administrators.
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the policies of the Diocese of Dallas and John Paul II High School.
