SEEKING EXPERIENCED PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANT: Local personal injury law firm seeking someone with positive attitude and strong work ethic with a desire to work in a team atmosphere. Three years of legal assistant or paralegal experience preferred. The ideal candidate must have experience in all phases of the litigation process from discovery through trial and appeals. Familiarity with federal court practice is desirable.
Qualifications: Outstanding organizational and time management skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, legal administrative skills, client relationships, scheduling, attention to detail, excellent typing and proofreading skills, confidentiality, professionalism and dependability. Proficiency in software including MS Word, Outlook, Adobe, Excel. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include maintaining attorneys' calendars, providing timely reminders, answering phones, transcribing dictation, preparing draft pleadings, helping coordinate discovery and depositions, preparing and answering draft discovery requests and responses, preparing medical summaries, and other various tasks. Open files, close files, handling incoming/outgoing mail and incoming/outgoing faxes. Transcription of electronic dictation. Preparation of correspondence and pleadings. Electronic filing with State court systems. Maintaining a good working rapport with clients and other counsel.
