What are the responsibilities and job description for the Irrigation Tech position at John Knox Village of Florida?
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Do preventive maintenance on the irrigation system (Wet Checks).
- During wet checks repair system, fix clogged heads, trim around valve boxes; replace broken valve boxes, straighten sprinkler heads. Make sure heads are flush mounted where applicable.
- Oversee preventive maintenance of 1000 GPM pump station twice annually.
- Clean up responsibilities after a repair, rake, sweep, blow area so the area looks undisrupted.
- Participate in special projects to be determined by department manager.
- Execute work orders.
- Other duties as assigned by Grounds Manager.
POSITION SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills and Knowledge
- 2 years experience with irrigation systems.
- Basic knowledge of irrigation system repairs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Trouble shooting techniques.
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Must be able to respond quickly to urgent situations.
- Ability to physically lift up to 50 LBS
Interpersonal Skills
- English verbal communication skills.
