What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Clerk position at JOHN HENRY FOSTER MINNESOTA INC?
The purpose of Shipping & Receiving is to be a part of our team within our warehouse. Job duties would include unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, and recording shortages. This position is responsible for entering inventory quantities into our systems.
Responsibilities:
- Assembles, prepares orders, verifies and keeps records on outbound shipments.
- Maintains inventory of materials and supplies.
- Operates forklift or hand truck to accomplish shipping/receiving duties including the loading and unloading of trailers and trucks.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Enter inventory quantities into system (Infor).
- Generate paperwork for and schedule courier shipments.
- Ensure methodical placement and sorting of materials in proper bin locations

- Responsible for minor building maintenance tasks such as building repairs and snow removal.
- Facilitate the removal of waste oil and metal to ensure they are properly disposed of through third party services.
- Assists in other warehouse projects and activities as needed.
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Prior warehouse experience including order picking, shipping, and receiving preferred.
- Forklift driving experience/certification.
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with other team members.
- Demonstrated computer skills.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, and walk.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
