We are here to help homeowners recover from water, fire/smoke, storm, flood, and mold damage. Our staff are experts in the insurance claim process. We work in the customer’s best interest and guide them through the claim process.  John Grace staff are highly trained in mitigating loss, scoping/estimating repairs, and ensuring timely and high-quality repair work. John Grace continues to grow and we are looking to add an experienced Assistant GM to our team for our Grand Rapids location.



Purpose of the Assistant General Manager Role

As a proven leader in successful people and process management, the Assistant General Manager at John Grace is responsible for all day-to-day operations at their location and maintains a strong focus on company culture, growth, and expansion.  



We are looking for someone who

  • Has 3-5 years of verifiable managerial experience
  • Has prior experience in a similar leadership role
  • Has some knowledge of the construction/restoration industry-Preferred
  • Has some knowledge of construction operations, including scheduling, budgeting and cost control.  -Preferred
  • Has some knowledge of the insurance claims process- Preferred
  • Has a High School Diploma or Equivalent experience
  • Has outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Has a proven track record of performance achievement
  • Is professional, organized, team focused and detail oriented



Key responsibilities and duties

  • Assist the General Manager in monitoring project progress with the Project Managers and Estimators. Including but not limited to schedules, budgets, project plans and customer issues.
  • Analyze situations, think critically and find effective solutions to internal and external issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, safety regulations and quality standards. 
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor work quality and safety conditions.
  • Must maintain a strong focus on company growth and expansion.
  • Ensure company vision is upheld when making decisions and creating processes.
  • Cultivate a culture of feedback. Be able to provide/receive feedback from others with positive intent. 
  • Responsible for ensuring employee compliance to John Grace core values. 
  • Partner with HR in all hiring, performance counseling, and terminations in alignment with John Grace’s core values. 
  • Support the General Manager in overseeing staff performance and quality of work. Be able to provide timely constructive feedback.
  • Generate reports as needed for the General Manager.
  • Review monthly financial reports with the General Manager and understand how the numbers correlate to the day to day operations.

Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is a very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
  • Candidate for employment must have a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record. 
  • Candidate must pass a criminal background check to perform work on insurance related claims.
  • Has strong technological abilities.
