Role Description The Senior Construction Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Canton, MA, responsible for overseeing all phases of commercial and residential construction projects from planning through completion. This role manages construction schedules, budgets, and quality standards, coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors, and ensures work complies with design specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. The Senior Construction Manager leads on-site teams, conducts regular site inspections, resolves field issues, and proactively mitigates project risks. The position also involves preparing progress reports, supporting permitting and inspections, and contributing to continuous improvement of construction processes across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Strong supervisory skills with experience leading on-site construction teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial tracking for multi-phase construction projects.
- Hands-on knowledge of construction methods, materials, and commercial/residential building systems.
- Experience in construction safety, including OSHA compliance, risk mitigation, and safety-focused site management.
- Project control capabilities, including scheduling, change management, and progress reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely decisions in the field.
- Experience with construction management software and basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Several years of progressively responsible construction management experience, preferably in mixed-use, commercial, or multifamily projects.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as needed.
