Position Summary
John F. Murphy Homes, Inc. (JFM) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse Care Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will provide leadership, direction, and supervision in the delivery of nursing services to individuals with intellectual disabilities (IID) who require less than eight hours of daily nursing support. You will ensure compliance with state, federal, local, and agency regulations while serving as a vital liaison between staff, guardians, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to uphold person-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide professional guidance, training, and supervision to staff delivering nursing services.
Communicate regularly with Residential Assistants, Direct Support Professionals, and other team members to address medical needs.
Collaborate with administrators, guardians, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to advocate for quality care.
Complete and review documentation including care plans, physician’s orders, medication reviews, monthly summaries, and incident reports.
Manage medication and medical supply ordering to ensure availability.
Participate in quality assurance programs and assist with surveys, compliance reviews, and feedback initiatives.
Implement and maintain nursing policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Current Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
3–5 years of nursing experience preferred.
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain professional relationships across departments.
Experience
Preferred- Familiarity with social work terms, ability to use basic software, and a valid driver's license preferred
- Experience in human services preferred
Education
Required- Bachelor Degree or better in Nursing
- General Educational Development or better
- High School Diploma or better
Licenses & Certifications
Required- RN License
