We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator for our Womelsdorf Plant for the first Shift.
Under the supervision of the Maintenance ManagerVice President of Facilities Maintenance, this position performs work in water and wastewater operations and sampling activities for the plant operations.
Essential Functions
- Monitors water and wastewater systems for safe and efficient operation. Performs sampling and test procedures, keeping accurate records.
- Operates powered industrial equipment and company vehicle while performing duties.
- Assists with system installation, inspection, and repair.
- Maintains equipment, grounds, and buildings.
- Deals with preventive maintenance, system breakdowns, and emergencies.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and standard hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, with frequent Saturday work. Employees work various shifts, with overtime as required.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position primarily works outdoors, in all types of weather, and in potentially hazardous environments, which may involve exposure to dangerous chemicals and/or raw sewage. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Travel
This position requires infrequent travel off company property for various business demands.
Required Education and Experience
The maintenance worker position currently does not require any secondary education. The position requires several years of prior experience in the maintenance-related field, including the essential functions and core competencies listed in the above job description.
