As a meat processing laborer in the Hanging Dept, you will work in a fast-paced production environment, performing manual labor regarding all aspects of the stuffing and processing of various meat products. All laborers will be required to assist in any department (other than their primary department) when and where their assistance is required. All employees are required to work safely.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm (With mandatory OT as needed)
Essential Functions:
- Mark product bins, cages, and carts with identifying code information.
- Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understand all aspects of company recipes. Must be capable of lifting 80 lb. bags of recipe spices. Must be capable of tracking product yields, pump percentages,formulating meat blocks.
- Document all production-related activities pertaining to the Product Traceability Computer System.
- Keeps work area neat, clean, and hazard-free.
- Consistentreliable attendance.
- The ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- A good understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules.
- Good powers of observation to observe problems with products. Concentration for repetitive tasks.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- A good team worker with skills and the ability to work alone. Must be flexible
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, lift, carry, bend, squat, push, pull, and operate company equipment. Must be at least 18 years old to operate OSHA-mandated equipment.
