What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teacher (RISE - Autism Program) position at John F. Kennedy School?
The JFK is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Substantially Separate Autism program who will:
•Develop weekly lesson plans that contain all of the required components.
•Deliver instruction utilizing appropriate resources, equipment, materials, technology and instructional strategies.
•Provide differentiated instruction based on the student’s individual level of functioning and preferred learning modalities.
•Utilize ABA methodologies in instruction with students as necessary. Implement comprehensive behavior support plans.
•Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff.
•Develop, teach, and review clear and concise classroom rules, routines, procedures, and expectations.
•Develop a daily/weekly schedule of instructional and non-instructional activities for each paraprofessional.
•Maintain constant and ongoing communication regarding students and all facets of the program. Train classroom assistants
•Follow the appropriate chain of command when questions, issues, and/or concerns arise.
•Accurately complete all required paperwork within the designated timelines. Prepare and complete MCAS and MCAS Alternative portfolio Manage behavioral crisis.
Terms: Salary and Work Year (182 days) per Unit A Teacher Contract
