What are the responsibilities and job description for the JEAP Before and Afterschool Group Leader position at John Eaton Afterschool Program?
John Eaton Afterschool Program (JEAP) is committed to providing safe, high-quality child care for children at John Eaton Elementary School. JEAP focuses on helping our students develop socioemotional skills through play and recreational activities.
We are seeking Afterschool Group Leaders who have at least 2 years of experience working with school-aged children from Pre-K through 5th grade.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities for students
- Assist students with homework
- Engage students with various activities throughout the afternoon
- Collaborate with other Group Leaders to plan and execute activities
- Ensure student safety
- Monitor students in small and large group activities
- Prepare and serve snacks to students using food safety standards
Hours are 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm for Afterschool; 7:00-9:00 AM for Beforeschool Monday through Friday when school is in session. Starting hourly wage $19.00. If offered employment, candidates must complete a DCPS background check, to include fingerprinting and drug testing. Applicants with CDA and CPR certifications are strongly encouraged to apply. We offer flexible schedules, however candidates must be available at least 3 days per week.
