Reporting to and partnering with MacArthur Foundation’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Kenneth Jones, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will have lead responsibility for all aspects of financial management, budgeting, compliance and auditing for one of the nation’s largest philanthropic foundations. Critical to the success of the CFO are the following responsibilities: Responsible for all financial matters of The MacArthur Foundation and its affiliate organizations. Including day-to-day administration of the budget. Lead and develop a high functioning team that meets and exceeds performance expectations through best-in-class practices and a can-do, collaborative spirit. Provide strategic guidance to evaluate, eliminate, and/or improve manual or low -tech procedures/processes that impede the efficiency. Partner with senior leadership colleagues to establish the organizational strategy and evaluate progress against strategic goals. Plan and monitor the organization's financial, treasury, and capital structure activity. Offer insight to interdepartmental initiatives while developing consultative working relationships throughout the organization. Implement strategic changes based on data, circumstances, and sound reasoning. Refine/develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans. Ensure translation of organization’s business plan, vision, strategy, and performance targets into functional plans in collaboration with other executives. Engage the finance committee of the Board of Directors to develop short-, medium- and long-term financial plans and projections. As a senior leader, maintain a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality people. Coordinate resources (including people and capital) across the whole organization and identify and resolve critical shared resource issues. With a high level of intellectual horsepower and a curious mindset, the CFO is a strategic, tactical and visionary finance leader with the ability to “deep dive” into the details while staying focused on the overall financial health of the organization. This leader will have experience prioritizing objectives and converting strategy into effective execution. The CFO will have the ability to conceptualize and analyze problems and solutions in a proactive, constructive and creative manner that results in improved performance across the organization. Compensation The salary range for this role has been set at $270,000-$300,000 based on experience.
