Licensed Vocational Nurse - Per Diem Join Our Team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Location: Mariposa, California – Gateway to Yosemite National Park Department: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Openings: 1 Representation: This is a Union represented position and is represented by AFSCME Local 2703 ____________________________________________________________ Position Summary As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in our Skilled Nursing Facility, you will provide direct and compassionate nursing care to residents in a long-term and post-acute care setting. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and physician, you will administer treatments and medications, observe and report resident conditions, supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and participate in resident care planning. Your role is critical in ensuring quality care, resident safety, and dignity while maintaining compliance with professional standards and regulations ____________________________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care including treatments, procedures, and medication administration within LVN scope of practice. Monitor residents’ health, report changes in condition, and carry out appropriate interventions as directed by the RN or physician. Accurately document nursing care, observations, and resident responses in the electronic health record. Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents. Provide direction, guidance, and supervision to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality resident care. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team and actively participate in resident care planning. Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting independence and dignity. Communicate with residents’ families, providing updates and support as appropriate. Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and facility policies at all times. ____________________________________________________________ Minimum Qualifications Current California LVN license in good standing. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
