Diesel Technician Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our maintenance terminal in Portersville, PA. The ideal diesel mechanic will have expertise in managing and performing repairs on tractors, trailers, heavy equipment, hydraulics, tires, and welding. This position requires strong technical skills, particularly with EPA 2017 engines, and a commitment to maintaining our fleet in top condition.
Diesel Mechanic Shift
- Monday-Friday 2:30 P.M-12:30 A.M.
Diesel Technician Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs on tractors, trailers, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of tractors and dump trailers.
- Handle tire maintenance and welding tasks as needed.
- Diagnose problems and plan effective repairs.
- Perform diagnostic tests using engine diagnostic software such as Peterbilt Davie and Cummins Insite.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs performed.
- Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Respond to road calls as necessary.
Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:
- Must own personal hand tools.
- 1 years of experience as a diesel tech in the trucking industry is required
- 3 years of diesel mechanic experience is a plus. (Pay based on experience)
- Experience with EPA 2017 engines, specifically Cummins X15, Mack MP-8, and PACCAR MX-13.
- Knowledge of Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems, hydraulic systems, pumps, and PTOs.
- Familiarity with electrical systems for both tractors and trailers.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software (Peterbilt Davie and Cummins Insite preferred).
- A valid driver’s license is required; CDL A is a plus.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, MVR checks, drug screening, and physical exams.
