We are accepting applications for a full-time CAD DRAFTER for our stainless fabrication facility.
Job Summary:
Responsible for using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create accurate technical drawings and 3-D models for custom stainless steel foodservice equipment that results in designs being aligned with industry standards and meeting Voice of Customer (VOC) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize CAD software (such as AutoCAD and Inventor) to generate 2D and 3D drawings, plans, and elevations based on design requirements and specifications provided by engineers and design team.
- Collaborate closely with estimators and project managers to understand design intent and incorporate necessary modifications into drawings.
- Participate in design reviews to provide input on DFM and design optimization.
- Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and adherence to company guidelines.
- Perform thorough quality checks on drawings to identify and rectify any errors or inconsistencies.
- Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, estimating, and project management, to address queries and clarify design specifications.
- Work within established project timelines to ensure that drawings are completed and delivered according to project schedules.
- Revise drawings based on markups and feedback from customers.
- Coordinate with project managers and the drafting manager to prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.
Education & Training:
CAD certificate, Associate’s degree in Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Knowledge & Experience:
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) and familiarity with 3D modeling techniques.
- 0-5 years of related experience.
Skills & Abilities:
- Possess some understanding of stainless-steel sheet metal properties and fabrication processes.
- Great attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
- Ability to review and interpret architectural drawings.
- Ability to read and understand written specs provided by customers.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes, regulations and standards.
