Are you an experienced Generator Technician looking for a company that values your skills, supports your growth, and provides steady work? John Betlem is seeking a dedicated Generator Technician to join our growing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential and commercial standby generators while delivering an exceptional customer experience on every job.
Pay Range: $20-$25 per hour
What You'll Do:
- Install and test residential standby generators according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, and load bank testing to ensure optimal generator performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair generator systems efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct oil and filter changes, coolant checks, electrical inspections, and other routine maintenance tasks.
- Repair or replace defective components, wiring, and equipment as needed.
- Complete generator start-ups, verifying proper placement, ventilation, gas line sizing, and overall system operation.
- Review and process warranty-related service issues.
- Communicate effectively with Dispatch regarding job progress, updates, and scheduling.
- Educate customers on generator operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all invoices, service notes, testing documentation, customer signatures, and payments are completed accurately.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
- Follow all company safety standards and industry regulations.
- Serve as a technical resource and support fellow team members when needed.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while representing the John Betlem brand with professionalism and integrity.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with residential standby generators.
- Generac experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must possess and maintain hand tools required for the trade.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
