Sanitation Worker III /1st Shift

Summary: The Sanitation Worker III is a key member of the sanitation team responsible for cleaning the general plant area and equipment, removing refuse, and leading large-scale cleaning projects as needed.

Functions Of the Position:

• Clean plant areas and equipment using tools such as brooms, brushes, spray bottles, mops, squeegees, water guns, air guns, and vacuums.

• Operate machinery including floor scrubbers, high-pressure washers, wash cabinets, cop tanks, walkers, walker stackers, electric pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and both stand-up and sit-down forklifts.

• Use industrial-strength cleaners, degreasers, and sanitizers to clean factory equipment, including assembly and disassembly of equipment in assigned areas.

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment by being aware of surroundings, watching out for coworkers, and training team members on occupational hazards.

• Complete log records of tasks performed.

• Lead major cleaning projects such as allergen/kosher cleaning of dry roasters, caustic boil-outs of heat wave and oil roasters, front-end allergen cleans, and Cold Jet deep dives. May coordinate and assist with on-shift cleaning by non-sanitation personnel.

• Ensure work areas are clean and orderly before the end of each shift.

• Perform titration procedures, report issues to supervisors, and carry out corrective actions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• 1–3 years of sanitation or equivalent work experience required.

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic math proficiency.

• Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity.

• Safe and effective use of Cold Jet equipment.

• Proficient in handling industrial-strength cleaning agents.

Additional Requirements

• Must be available to work the following schedule: 6:00am-6:00pm (Thursday/Friday/Saturday and Sunday's)

• May be responsible for training Sanitation Workers at Levels I, II, and III.

• In the event of absence, the department manager must assign a qualified replacement.
