What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator (Caster) position at Johanson Technology?
Johanson Technology Inc. (JTI) is looking for a Machine Operator. Will set up and operate casting machines (Comma Coater, Keko and/or Belt) to cast dielectric material of different types and thickness
Hourly Rate (Non-Exempt): $18.50 - $20.00/per hour (DOE)
Work Schedule (Monday-Friday) 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least three (3) months in setting up and operating semi-automated machines.
- At least three (3) months of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a chemical environment
- Basic computer skills
- Good math skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Some experience using a Microscope
- Experience working in a Clean Room Environment
- Experience with Comma Coater, Keko and/or Belt Casting Machines
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the quality of the tape they produce.
- Read the travelers to ensure that they are using the correct dielectric type and caster set-up.
- Thickness, density and porosity measurement and data recording in SPC Data Entry.
- Ability to receive frequent verbal instruction and inspect work or materials produced.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Standing/Walking up to 90% of shift; Sitting up to 10% shift.
- Twisting of neck and waist up to 90% shift; stoop and bend up to 20% of shift.
- Reaching above shoulder, and simple hand grasping up to 20% of shift.
- Lift, push, pull, and/or move - up to 80 lbs. with assistance up to 70% of shift.
- Measuring material up to 90% of shift.
- Will occasionally work in fast paced environment and demonstrate adaptability
- Must understand and follow a set of clear verbal and/or written procedures without deviation.
- Must adhere to a provided work schedule to meet a set of qualitative production standards.
- Interact with co-workers to complete tasks.
