Position: Direct Service Provider
Organization: Joey's Quest - Adult Day Program for I/DD Disabled Adults
Location: Bayville, NJ
Employment Type: Full-time/Part-time
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a person-centered and compassionate manner.
- Implement individualized care plans, ensuring the specific needs, goals, and preferences of participants are met.
- Engage participants in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, music therapy, vocational training, community outings, and more.
- Assist with daily living skills, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration, as needed.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes independence, socialization, and personal growth.
- Document participant progress, behaviors, and incidents accurately and timely.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to program policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications or training is a plus.
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or related fields (e.g., special education, social work, psychology) is a plus.
- Knowledge of person-centered approaches and understanding of developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and connect with participants and their families.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor with the ability to adapt to the unique needs of each individual.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently.
- Valid driver's license and ability to accompany participants on community outings.
