Job Description
Job Title: Meat Packers
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Weighs, packs, wraps, vacuum seals, and labels meat.*
- Ensures product is boxed according to order.*
- Works in freezer organizing, conducting inventory, and keeping track of product on a regular basis.*
- Responsible for assisting customers and farmers with retrieving orders from the freezer and loading vehicles when orders are picked up.*
- Reports low inventory to the Owner or Operational/Retail Manager.*
- Cleans processing room by following the Federal USDA regulations.*
- Responsible for working closely with teammates and management to ensure quality standards are met on a daily basis.*
- Logs and tracks temperatures of coolers and freezers.*
- Completes daily, weekly, and monthly paperwork.*
- Completes USDA re-sale fat test.*
- Logs and tracks products including ground beef, sausage, etc.*
- Completes regular verification checks.*
- Loads materials and products into package processing equipment.*
- Grinds meats and cases sausage.*
- Unloads animals upon arrival.*
- Works with lactic acid, including making up the solution and logging the lactic acid per animal.*
- Cleans containers, materials, supplies, and work areas using cleaning solutions and hand tools.*
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Language Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/Experience:
One year related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
