The legendary Joe's Stone Crab first opened in Miami Beach in 1913. It all began when Joseph Weiss, the "Joe" of Joe's Stone Crab, and his wife Jennie set up seven or eight tables on the front porch of the house they owned. The Reservationist answers inbound calls, takes reservations, updates thereservations database and provides engaging customer service to effectively address guest requests;also communicates with management with questions or concerns.Accurately records and accounts for carryout items ordered, process payments, and balances all sales/receipts.
Essential Functions
- Answer inbound calls; receive, record andconfirm all reservations; and provide engaging customer service to address guests' requests, includingbut not limited to suggesting alternatives reservations as needed, using salestechniques and answering questions about the restaurant and menu; andcommunicate with management as needed with questions or concerns
- Accuratelytake and package food and beverage orders for guests placing carryout orders
- Accuratelyrecord and account for all items ordered, process payments, and balance allsales/receipts in compliance with restaurant policies and procedures
- Understand andrespond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu
- Efficiently handlespecial requests including but not limited to assisting guests including thosewith disabilities using Company guidelines
- Update and maintainaccuracy of guest profiles in reservations database
- Follow all steps ofservice
- Ensure that the officeand/or host desk are kept clean and organized throughout the shift
- Understand and respondknowledgeably to questions about the restaurant and menu
- Understandand follow the food allergy procedure and special orders/restrictions
- Work a variety of hours,days and shifts, including weekends
- Comply with all safetyand sanitation (including handwashing) guidelines and procedures
- Proficiently use andoperate all necessary tools and equipment, including the reservation,telephone, paging and voicemail systems, and phone etiquette and messageguidelines
- Successfully completealcohol awareness training as required

- Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile
- Use tact and good judgement when dealingwith guest challenges and respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy
- Assist with maintaining restrooms
- Maintainproficiency in the use and operation of all necessary tools and equipment,including the reservation, telephone, paging and voicemail systems
- Comply with all safety and sanitationguidelines and procedures
- Follow all rules, policies, proceduresand conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Get along well with others and be a teamplayer
- Other duties will be assigned as needed
