Duties
- Operate skid steer loaders with precision to perform tasks such as grading, excavation, loading, and material handling on construction sites
- Operator chainsaw and other tree service equipment
- Ability to assist with routine tree service, emergency tree service calls and strom damage.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Assist with site preparation by moving materials, clearing debris, and leveling surfaces according to project specifications
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety protocols at all times to maintain a secure work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate the use of heavy equipment like excavators, skid steer, dump trucks, and other seasonal equipment.
- Support other projects such as seasonal services; snow removal, etc.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery
- Proven experience with chainsaw and tree equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment problems effectively
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and general safety standards in construction environments
- Ability to perform utility locating accurately to prevent damage during excavation activities
- Knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance is a plus
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with diverse tasks such as paving and grading operations
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and adhering to safety protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail
