Position Summary

Joe Moore & Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced, dependable Welder to perform industrial boiler repairs, pressure vessel welding, refractory installation, and mechanical maintenance at customer facilities throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is committed to quality workmanship, safety, customer service, and teamwork.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Complete pressure vessel and non-pressure vessel weld repairs.
  • Complete code-quality welds and successfully pass required welding qualifications.
  • Repair and maintain fire tube and water tube boilers.
  • Replace boiler tubes, valves, controls, and related components.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repair work.
  • Install, repair, and remove refractory materials in boilers, furnaces, and incinerators.
  • Weld refractory anchors as required.
  • Build forms for refractory installation.
  • Travel to customer job sites, throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Sometimes overnight, if required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Complete projects safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other job-related equipment.
  • Keep tools and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience with MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required welding qualification tests.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift 55 pounds and regularly lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Work in confined spaces such as boilers, furnaces, and pressure vessels.
  • Work at elevated heights using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators.
  • Pass vision requirements with or without corrective lenses.
