Responsibilities
- Transport products between warehouse locations using company trailers
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance
- Assist with loading and unloading trailers as needed to support warehouse operations
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
- Perform daily yard checks of equipment, including monitoring fuel levels and temperatures
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety standards and legal regulations
- Report any vehicle or equipment damages promptly through the appropriate channels
- Immediately notify management of any animal welfare concerns
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience (4 years preferred)
- Must be at least 25 years old
- Experience with refrigerated (reefer) units preferred
- Ability to comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including passing a DOT background check and drug screen
- Proficient with smartphone, laptop, and tablet technology
- Ability to operate a pallet jack, forklift, and handheld scan device
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic math and record-keeping skills
- Effective teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to meet all assigned work schedules and comply with attendance policies
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds (and up to 80 pounds with assistance), crouch, squat, climb, and work in cold environments
