The Systems Engineering Team is seeking an intern to assist in advancing the certification and operational capabilities of our eVTOL aircraft. This person will work closely with other engineers on the team to provide hands-on support with various analysis, test, and verification deliverables. We expect our interns to take on a lot of ownership but will provide support and guidance to allow them to grow and be successful in a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment. This internship is based in San Carlos, CA, and may require travel to other locations in Marina, CA, or Santa Cruz, CA.
Responsibilities
The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $22.00 - $31.00/hour. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and/or Ph.D. degree is $5,550-$7,800/month.

Responsibilities
- Analyze and process data to drive test cases and other verification activities.
- Generate content and contribute to drafting analysis deliverables.
- Execute requirement and verification updates following Joby development processes.
- Support project teams with hands-on test execution as needed.
- Work closely with systems engineering, design, and test engineering to develop test cases verifying regulatory and other system requirements.
- Manage small projects from conception to completion.
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline
- Currently at junior level or above
- Must be able to work for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time and onsite at our San Carlos, CA facility
- Experience or course work in any of the following; Mechanical or Aerospace Design, Electro-Mechanical Systems, Thermal Systems, Electrical/Power Engineering, or Machine Control (PLCs, robotics)
- Knowledge of design practices, materials, and basic analysis with relevant coursework
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Prior relevant intern or co-op experience
- Project work, or hobbies, showing some hands-on attitude and creativity, and application of engineering knowledge. This can also be from prior internships or clubs, etc.
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to listen and learn effectively. Enthusiasm, passion, proactivity, and genuine excitement surround the role and company.
