Overview
The Flight Research group at Joby works on advanced research projects: designing, building, and flying entirely new aircraft with novel airframe configurations, propulsion systems, and missions. To further enhance our capabilities, we require a versatile individual who can contribute in multiple areas. As a small, agile, and cohesive team, we value candidates who exhibit initiative, adaptability, and the capacity to handle a broad range of tasks to sustain the program's momentum.
Responsibilities
- Manage CI/CD infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve cloud infrastructure for large multi-vehicle parallel simulations.
- Manage separation of export controlled software from monorepo.
- Maintain security best practices in DevOps processes and tools.
- Help evaluating new technologies to promote our core tooling.
- Promote best practices and collaborate with developer teams to establish best practices for how to use our cloud services.
Required
- 3 years of experience in software engineering.
- Proficiency in C , Python, and Git.
- Experience managing CI/CD infrastructure.
- Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with one of the “Big Three” cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with Infrastructure as a Code (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi).
- This position must meet US export control compliance requirements, therefore a candidate must qualify as a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15. “US Person” includes US Citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.

- Aerospace related work experience.
- High proficiency with Bazel
- Expertise in AWS.
Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $113,700 - $186,800/yr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
