POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Homeownership Coach to join our team. In this role, you will empower individuals on their homeownership journey through personalized coaching, financial education, and guidance aligned with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) standards. A core part of this position is ensuring that all documentation and data entry meet HUD requirements.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving financial wellbeing, skilled in building trust with diverse communities, and fluent in both English and Spanish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESIndividual Counseling
- Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with clients pursuing homeownership.
- Explain HUD programs, including FHA loans and down-payment assistance options.
- Create tailored action plans based on client needs.
- Educate clients on budgeting, credit, debt management, savings, and homeownership topics.

Financial Education
- Lead financial education sessions covering budgeting, credit, and homeownership fundamentals.
- Help clients understand the long-term financial impacts of owning a home.
- Build strong relationships with bank partners and community organizations for referrals.
- Deliver virtual and in-person workshops as needed.
Client Relationship Management
- Enroll clients in the client management system and encourage self-enrollment through the website.
- Establish and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships.
- Schedule ongoing sessions via Zoom, phone, and in-person.
- Track client progress in Dynamics, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.

Resource Referral
- Connect clients to internal resources, community partners, and external support services.
- Stay informed on grants, financial assistance programs, and community tools beneficial to clients.
- Build partnerships with community organizations and share resources with their clients.
- Promote available services and solutions via appropriate social media channels.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records following HUD guidelines.
- Enter all client data into Dynamics daily to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Report client activity in a timely manner to keep data current.

Spanish-Speaking Client Support
- Provide high-quality coaching and communication in both English and Spanish.
- Deliver culturally sensitive written and verbal communication for Hispanic and Latino communities.
- Use strong bilingual communication skills to ensure accessibility and consistent messaging.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Housing, Counseling, or related field; or 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, savings, and debt management.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- HUD certification or ability to pass the HUD Certified Counselor exam within 90 days.
- Prior experience in homeownership counseling or similar roles.
- Strong presentation skills for both group and individual sessions.
- Empathetic, patient, and skilled at working with diverse populations.
- High-energy, professional, accountable, and resilient.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide culturally competent guidance and actively listen.
- Self-starter able to manage multiple projects with minimal direction.
- Ability to meet monthly and annual performance goals.
- Strong time-management skills and comfort working under deadlines.
- Reliable personal transportation for travel within the service area.
- Commitment to ongoing HUD training requirements.

PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience using CRM systems.

Pay: $55,036.83 - $60,000.00 per year
