What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Jobster LLC?
Organize production according to demand and quality standards for Make to Stock (MTS) purposes. Responsible for production planning, capacity planning, and scheduling product lines to meet changing monthly forecasts while managing inventory levels and schedules in a manner that guarantees maximum performance with reduced delays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reviews sales orders and forecast to set production priorities based on requested customer delivery dates, availability of raw materials, and process capacity.
• Plans and schedules regular production and production trials to achieve and optimal productivity and inventory levels.
• Maintains safety stock levels based on customer and internal risk mitigation requirements.
• Analyzes customer demand, supply chain issues, and production status daily to identify changes and gaps that will impact production planning and addresses the issues to keep the schedule intact.
• Works with Purchasing Department to analyze availability of raw materials against MRP. Notifies Purchasing Department of forecast changes that pose a risk of material shortages.
• Supports the resolution of material, manpower, machine, or planning issues that may influence on-time delivery
• Works to maintain efficient communication with all departments regarding order requirements. Confers with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Production, Warehouse and Shipping staff to facilitate rush orders, track, and report order status, or notify them of difficulties or delays in order processing.
• Provides initiatives for continuous production and engineering improvement
• Creates and delivers production status metrics to aid effective decision-making in the organization.
• Participates and provides input during the daily production planning meeting which may include representatives from Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Production, Warehouse, and Shipping departments.
MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years related manufacturing experience; direct production planning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MRP system; JDE applications preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
• Microsoft 365; JD Edwards or similar ERP/MRP system
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS:
• APICS Certification preferred
