Core Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Design and update the employee handbook to align with changing employment laws.
- Audits & Reporting: Conduct routine internal HR audits (e.g., I-9s, wage-hour, EEO-1) and prepare compliance reports.
- Leave & Accommodations: Manage and advise on complex leaves of absence, FMLA requests, and ADA reasonable accommodation processes.
- Workplace Postings: Ensure all legally required federal, state, and city labor law posters are continuously up to date across all work sites.
- Training: Develop and deliver compliance training programs on topics such as workplace harassment, diversity, and safety.
- Record Keeping: Maintain confidential, organized, and legally compliant employee files and background check records.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with a heavy emphasis on labor law governance.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of employment legislation, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and OSHA.
- Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in modern HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP).
- Certifications: Preferred certifications include Professional in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or specialized HR compliance credentials.
