Lab Technician-Cosmetic /Beauty Industry

Job Description

Jobsource is currently seeking Lab Technicians to join our team! Company manufactures cosmeceutical, personal care, and wellness products.

Position Summary

As part of the quality team, the Laboratory Technician will be responsible for Quality Control functions and monitor all aspects of the manufacturing operations to assure adherence to current Good[RF1] Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) regulations.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Quality Lab Technician’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conduct in-process bulk testing, approval and release.
• Manage adjustments of in-process bulk and bulk retains[RF2] .
• Issue CofA for Finished Goods & Bulk.
• Calibration of pH meter, pycnometer and weight verification of weighing scale.
• Cleaning verification using a luminometer.
• Check the weight of the bulk after transfer (calculate the yield, verify label information after transferring bulk).
• Verify critical raw material used during batching (includes active pharmaceutical ingredient and DI water).
• Prepare and submit samples to a 3rd party laboratory and follow-up on results.
• Review Micro/Analytical Lab report from 3rd party lab and request Out-of-Specification (OOS) report from the Lab when necessary.
• Manage customer bulk submissions and bulk retain samples.[RF3]
• Maintain an awareness of cGMP, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), good housekeeping and safety in the laboratory.
• Communicate any discrepancies and OOS’s with Director of Quality, assist and/or issue OOS investigations, deviations and issue non- conformance material reports (NCMR) per established SOP.
• Maintain record of temperature and humidity charts in production and warehouse areas.
• Maintain batch records/documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies.
• Support and enforce all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality. Experience in the cosmetic/pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
• BA or BS Degree in applicable field (Engineering, Quality, etc.) preferred.
• Basic algebra and statistics.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Quality Control/Assurance knowledge in a cGMP environment is required.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage time well.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Motivated and works well with others.
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Typical Working Environment: Work will be primarily in a temperature-controlled laboratory area. Portion of work time will be spent in production area requiring the wearing of proper protective [RF4] equipment and dealing with constant equipment in motion and high noise levels.

• Office Equipment: Computer, Keyboard, Copier, Fax Machine.
• Laboratory Equipment: Weighing Scale, pH meter, viscometer, F[RF5] T-IR, pycnometer, luminometer[RF6]
  
  

Essential Physical Tasks:

• Moderate walking, standing, bending and stooping.
• Moderate[RF7] period of looking at a computer screen and typing on a keyboard.
• Some[RF8] cell phone and land line telephone use.
• Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 40 pounds).
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

Monday to Friday, OT as needed

1st shift & 2nd shift

Pay: $22-$25
