Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews.
- Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Manage complex clinical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and ventilator management.
- Coordinate care plans with multidisciplinary teams, including case management, physical therapy, and social services.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, disease management, nutrition, and post-discharge care plans.
- Assist in emergency situations by performing airway management, basic life support (BLS), and triage assessments in urgent or trauma settings.
Experience
- Valid RN licensure in the relevant state or jurisdiction with current certification.
- Experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, or outpatient clinics.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with specialized procedures like cardiac catheterization, dialysis treatments, or neurovascular interventions is highly desirable.
- Background in critical care settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or PICU is preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and familiarity with medical terminology enhances your ability to deliver precise patient care.
- Prior experience caring for patients with complex needs such as those requiring hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health support, or geriatrics is advantageous.
