Actuary Director, Life Insurance Product Management - Selby Jennings

We are seeking a senior actuarial and product leader to oversee the end‑to‑end management of a life insurance and annuity product portfolio. This role is responsible for driving product strategy, development, and in‑force management while partnering closely with cross‑functional leaders to ensure competitive, financially sound, and operationally effective offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full product lifecycle for life insurance and annuity products, including product development, enhancements, launches, and in‑force management
• Own product strategy and portfolio management, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, profitability targets, and market opportunities
• Oversee reinsurance strategy, negotiations, treaty execution, and ongoing treaty management
• Partner closely with Marketing, Distribution, Finance, Operations, and Administration to bring products to market with actuarially sound pricing and compliant filings
• Monitor and analyze product performance, profitability, and risk, recommending actions as needed
• Lead, develop, and mentor actuarial and product teams, including performance management and professional development
• Communicate product strategy, performance, and recommendations to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and actuarial standards of practice
  
  
  

Qualifications

• ASA or FSA designation (FSA preferred) with active MAAA
• Significant experience in life insurance or annuity product management, pricing, or actuarial leadership
• Strong understanding of product development, reinsurance, and in‑force business management
• Proven people leadership and cross‑functional influence at a senior level
• Experience working within regulatory and actuarial frameworks (e.g., statutory, PBR)
• Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and decision‑making skills
