Job Description:

Apex Systems is looking to hire an Onsite Project Manager - Tooling & Industrial Equipment Procurement and Installation for our client based out of Dublin, VA.

This assignment is anticipated to be a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension. This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.

Compensation: $45-50/hr

Schedule: M-F First Shift hours

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for tooling and equipment projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, maintenance, and suppliers.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Source and evaluate suppliers for tooling and industrial equipment.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Manage vendor relationships and oversee compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of industrial equipment and tooling.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements during installation.
• Validate equipment performance and handover to operations.
• Track project costs and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Prepare regular status reports for stakeholders and management.
• Drive continuous improvement in project execution and cost efficiency.
  
  

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Proven expertise in tooling and industrial equipment procurement and installation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment specifications.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, SAP, or similar).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Preferred: PMP certification and experience with lean manufacturing principles.
