JOB DESCRPTION:
SAIC is seeking a Junior Field Technician to support our Department of Energy client.
Primary duties will include:
- Communicating effectively and professionally with customers, organizational IT Points of Contact, management, coworkers, via email, MS Teams chat, phone calls
- Working with customers and IT Points of Contact to determine technical requirements for laptop, desktop, and/or thin client refresh replacements
- Imaging/configuring end-user workstation hardware - laptop, desktop, thin client
- Updating asset assignment and/or location in DOE's personalized Service Now instance (aka DAYS)
- Following checklist to ensure all required software installed correctly during imaging
- Submitting supplemental Service Now tickets as needed to support refresh customers.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School and three (3) years or more related experience.
- Experience installing, replacing, troubleshooting hardware and software preferred
- Experience with MS Windows preferred Experience with ServiceNow
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position which involves a significant amount of standing, walking, bending, disconnecting and reconnecting cables and peripherals, physically picking up hardware. May involve reaching under desks, behind desks in potentially dirty/dusty locations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE BAO clearance (public trust equivalent)
