Kforce's client is seeking a Mechanical Design Lead to own and drive the mechanical design of modular power systems, including E-Houses and electrical skids, supporting large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for guiding mechanical design from early concept through execution. This position is critical to the continued expansion of modular product offerings, particularly skid-based and E-House solutions supporting data center and high-reliability power environments. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in power-related mechanical design, strong ownership of scope, and the ability to balance leadership with hands-on technical contribution.

Key Responsibilities:
- Partners closely with proposal engineering to support technical scope definition, layout development, and design inputs required for accurate quoting and project execution
- Manage a small team of engineers and designers while also coordinating with third-party design partners as needed
- Leading mechanical design efforts
- Mentoring and guiding junior engineers
- Ensuring design quality and consistency
- Collaborating across engineering, proposal, and external partners to deliver robust modular power solutions
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of mechanical design experience with modular power systems, industrial buildings, or skid-mounted equipment (flexible to ~6 years for strong candidates)
- Strong experience using SolidWorks for mechanical design and layout
- Proven ability to lead mechanical design from concept through detailed execution
- Experience managing or mentoring small technical teams
- E-Houses or modular electrical buildings
- Power Distribution Centers (PDCs)
- Medium- or Low-Voltage skids
- UPS plants
- Data center power modules
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure
- Experience with data center modular power platforms, including redundancy, uptime, and reliability considerations
- Familiarity with coordination across electrical, structural, and manufacturing disciplines
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in fast-growing, evolving environments
