Key Responsibilities:
- Support data stewardship for financial systems, working alongside data stewards, managers, and senior managers.
- Perform analysis to identify and document data quality issues, lineage, and metadata requirements.
- Maintain and expand metadata repositories and business glossaries; ensure accurate and up-to-date dataset definitions and lineage.
- Execute data mapping, basic data modeling, and data profiling tasks to support governance initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (reporting, ETL, master data teams) to enable consistent data management practices.
- Prepare clear, actionable recommendations, documentation, and status reports for managers and stakeholders.
- Act as a consultant to finance teams to help them manage and improve their data used for reporting and analytics.
- Participate in governance processes, meetings, and working sessions; help operationalize governance policies and standards.
- 4-6 years relevant experience in data analytics, data governance, or a related data stewardship role (senior analyst level).
- Proficiency in SQL for data profiling, analysis, and validation.
- Practical experience with metadata management, business glossaries, and documenting data lineage.
- Familiarity with data governance tools (experience with Informatica, Collibra, Alation, or similar is highly desirable).
- Basic experience with data mapping and entry-level data modeling; familiarity with ETL concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, execute tasks independently, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills-able to integrate well with team culture.
- Experience within the financial services, banking, insurance, or securities industries (domain knowledge of finance systems and reporting is beneficial).
- Prior work supporting enterprise data stewardship or master data management programs.
