- Strategic SAM Operations & Governance
- End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Implement a "Closed Loop" lifecycle for software assets, ensuring seamless transitions from procurement to asset tagging, allocation, and eventual retirement.
- Global Visibility & Local Governance: Manage entitlements across global operations, ensuring compliance while respecting regional operational needs.
- Process Standardization: Enforce a curated Service Catalog to minimize Shadow IT and standardize software requests, ensuring no license enters the ecosystem without a verified PO or Contract.
- Audit Defense & ELP Readiness
- Effective License Position (ELP): Generate real-time, "Publisher Ready" ELPs for Tier 1 vendors (Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, AWS), ensuring data accuracy for renewals and true-ups.
- Mock Audits: Lead bi-annual internal "Mock Audits" for high-risk vendors to simulate compliance checks, identify data gaps, and proactively remediate risks.
- Digital Evidence Locker: Maintain an immutable audit trail by attaching all contracts, EULAs, and POs directly to entitlement records within ServiceNow.
- Cost Optimization & Risk Reduction
- SaaS & Cloud Optimization: Oversee rightsizing strategies for SaaS (e.g., Salesforce, M365) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure), such as downgrading inactive "Pro" users and automating reclamation of unused licenses.
- Risk Scoring: Quantify financial exposure in real-time and prioritize remediation efforts for high-risk vendors.
- Leaver Process Management: Ensure immediate revocation of SaaS access and return of on-prem licenses to the pool upon employee departure to prevent leakage.
- Platform & Tool Management
- ServiceNow SAMPro Ownership: Act as the product owner for the SAM module, managing Publisher Packs (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP) and ensuring healthy integration with SCCM, Jamf, Intune, and cloud portals.
- Experience: 8 years in IT Asset Management, with significant experience managing large-scale portfolios ( 00M spend).
- Technical Expertise:
- ServiceNow SAM Pro: Expert-level mastery is mandatory.
- Licensing Complexity: Deep expertise in complex licensing models for Oracle (Java, Database, Fusion), Microsoft (M365, Azure, SPLA), Salesforce, and AWS.
- Tool Familiarity: Strong understanding of SAM tool landscapes (Flexera, Snow, Aspera) and how they compare/integrate with ServiceNow.
- Process Acumen: Demonstrated ability to design "Smart Procurement" workflows that check for existing rights before purchasing new licenses.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Software Asset Management (CIS-SAM)
- IAITAM Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM)
- ITIL v4 Specialist: High-velocity IT
- Executive Presence: Ability to present "Financial Exposure" and "ROI" reports to C-level executives.
- Vendor Negotiation: Proven track record of reducing renewal costs through strategic consolidation and data-backed negotiation.
