- 8 years of technical work experience
- Hands on experience in softgoods prototype development (textiles, silicone, polymers, leather, hybrid constructions)
- Strong knowledge of pattern engineering, 2D pattern creation from 3D CAD geometry
- Cut and sew expertise including seam construction, stitch types, thread selection, and tension calibration
- Experience with EVT / DVT prototype builds and rapid iteration cycles
- Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM / DFx) for softgoods
- Experience integrating hardware into softgoods (buckles, lugs, magnets, connectors)
- Familiarity with validation testing (tensile, tear, abrasion, flex, sweat/environmental exposure)
- Working knowledge of CAD tools (Rhino, SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent)
- Ability to collaborate with industrial design, mechanical, manufacturing, and suppliers)
- Develop and execute high fidelity softgoods prototypes aligned to industrial design intent and functional requirements
- Support material selection and characterization across textiles, silicones, polymers, and coatings
- Create and refine 2D patterns, perform digital fit checks, and support physical fit validation
- Execute cut and sew trials, iterate seams, stitches, and construction details
- Support EVT and DVT builds, including soft tooling for silicone and polymer components
- Perform early DFM/DFx assessments to ensure scalability and manufacturability
- Support prototype validation testing and incorporate feedback into design iterations
- Work closely with cross functional teams and suppliers to resolve prototype issues quickly
- Document prototype learnings and communicate risks, trade offs, and recommendations clearly
