Job Level: Senior Systems Engineer z/OS

Location: Hybrid, in office 2-3 days and as needed Bethesda ,MD

Duration: Now through December 2026 with possibility of extension

Required Experience:

• 7 years performing general z/OS systems programming
• 5 years performing installation, maintenance, configuration and support of a wide range of IBM, Broadcom, BMC, Precisely, and other ISV products
• 3 years mainframe network configuration and management, z/OS Communications Server, including network security and encryption
• 3 years z/OSMF workflow customization and usage
• System automation (OPS/MVS) and related alerting, system health checks
• CA-7 batch configuration, performance/SLA optimization, distributed Airflow integration
• Performance monitoring and tuning (batch and online)
• Coupling Facility, SYSPLEX, and Structures
• BlueZone mainframe emulator configuration and upgrades
• General storage management, including but not limited to:
• Manage and define SMS rules and ACS routines
• DFHSM
• CA-1
• Develop and implement data retention policies
• Disaster recovery planning and readiness
  

Desired Experience:

• Hardware storage management, ideally with IBM Virtual Tape (TS7770) and Dell EMC DASD (VMAX/PMAX)
• ACF2 installation, maintenance, configuration and customization, as well as audit and compliance, encryption and certificates
• WLM, MICS, SAS, MQ
• Assembler and REXX programming.
  
  

Other Requirements:

• Inclusion in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support
• Perform analysis of the current environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
• Update and create system documentation as necessary.
